I joined the metabolic community in 2005 when my middle son Will was born. Will has Phenylketonuria, or PKU. My husband and Istarted the first family support group in Louisiana, LaPKUA, that has grown into LMDC. Though now living in Austin, I remain active on the State and Federal level with advocacy efforts. My passions are securing access to genetics services and insurance funding for low protein food and formula. In my spare time, I’m a cyclist and practice emergency small animal veterinary medicine.
